This installation is inspired by data collected during the 2011 Japanese tsunami. It delves into the themes of our deep ties to larger cycles of time and our physical world. Constructed from fishing net, Her work visually symbolizes interconnectedness, showcasing how any change in one aspect affects all others.
▌The Event of a Thread (2012-13) by Ann Hamilton
This installation draws together readings, sound, and live events within a field of 42 swings that together invite visitors to connect to each other and the work itself. As the day ends, witness the poignant ritual of a vocalist serenading pigeons, whose release into flight adds a breathtaking finale.
